The Gear section undertakes the studies and development of fishing gear and techniques, technology transfer and improvement of existing gears for the rational exploitation of the fisheries resources in the Ghanaian marine environment.

Activities

- Gear Frame Survey to asses the number and types of gears in the system.

-Trials of Excluder Devices: the trammel net (for sepia cuttle fish) the TED (Turtle excluder device) and Juvenile excluder device.
